My GF Told Me She Got Invited To Go To Dinner By A Very Nicely Dressed Man
by minimus inget this: she called me up to tell me a well dressed man came to her house and actually invited her for dinner, a "meal" at the local kingdom hall on the memorial evening.. he gave her the invitation to enjoy the meal with him and quite a few other people on the night the "meal" was being served.. i explained to her that the dinner only consisted of wine and unleavened bread and that she could only watch the bread and wine being passed but if she got a hold of the plate or the cup she had to just give it the next person.. she asked, "you mean there's no dinner like he said?
" i answered there was not.
and she said, "then forget it then!"..

AndersonsInfo
by minimus ini am sick and tired of people putting down posters like the andersons!
they work hard to expose some things we might never have known about.
why some find fault with them, or ray franz before them, or maximus when he was here is beyond me.. be thankful for those that decide to come here and share what they know about this organization.. we get elders who are still in their positions and they share with us a lot of interesting news and perspectives.

putting something into perspective is not picking on someone. and what is "the cause" anyway?

Heads up, the Local Needs part this week is a special talk on blood transfusions.
by miseryloveselders ina brother called me to ask who was delivering the talk at our hall.
i didn't know what he was talking about.
he then explained to me that this week, for the local needs, congregations across the us will have a brother deliver a special outline on blood transfusions.. .

my in-laws' dog needed a blood transfusion because of some illness. he wasn't baptized nor studying nor a believer as far as i know. they had such a bad conscience and thought back and forth if it was a grave sin to accept the treatment. in the end they secretly accepted. the blood hound gang erm.. hospital liaison committee wasn't summoned.

To the Christians of JWN
by snowbird inwhen i read your threads, i get a feeling akin to that of reading the posts of those of a certain ethnicity.. we are really and truly brothers in christ.. not that i have anything against agnostics, atheists, non-theists, and pantheists of course.. syl.

in the end we are all (distant) relatives... christian or not. (even human or not...)

no... i wouldn't like that either. it just makes me feel kinda uncomfortable when someone adds (peace to you!) here and there. reminds me of the invisible pink unicorn.
i prefer people who genuinely like me to treat me well, but they don't have to peace on me all the time. the rest may be nice too, but they can also keep their piece to themselves.

Its official, call me Mr Apostate from now on
by Joey Jo-Jo ini overheard a conversation from my family, jw's are shunning me, but the best part is i am not a jw, never been bathtised, just a born in who woke up in his early thirties.
the reasoning behind it was something i did, it wasn't fornication because im still a virgen, it wasn't stealing, killing or praying to false gods, drinking or anything that the bible defines as sin, im not even the going out type, i dont have many friends, never been reprove or did anything to set a bad example (i was your typical jw) no no no, it was a book, it was sending an email to a family member who happens to be jw with the shephearding the flock ppf.. this book was a huge shock to the person, eventually it raised questions and spread around, eventually this went full circle back at me, my parents already concerned for some time has asked brothers to see if they can fix my reasoning so i can be brainwashed again and give them money to some rich guys in brooklyn who dont have any ethical responsibilities towards others.
i wanted my parents to do this, i want them to see what the brothers will do and say about me, thinking and hopping, that some day they will wake up from their long sleep.

i went through this. my baby needed a tranfusion and my JW family was sitting outside while we were talking with the doctor. i told the doctor how this situation put additional stress on us. he was pretty well informed on the wittness stance. so i asked him on what i could tell my JW family and he told me a few things acceptable to JWs. so that's what we repeated outside, simply ignoring the blood part.
it's terrible, the whole situation is exhausting even without all that JW stuff, and you only have additional pressure put on you by all the JWs who just want to help and ask if you'd need the anti blood squad around.
